Mixamo
Free auto-rigging and 2,500+ mocap animations for 3D characters, in the browser.
About
Mixamo is Adobe's free web-based service that auto-rigs 3D characters and applies motion-capture animations in minutes. Upload a humanoid mesh (FBX, OBJ, or ZIP), place a few guide markers, and Mixamo generates a skeleton with skin weights in under two minutes; then pick from a library of 2,500+ mocap clips — walks, runs, combat, idles — and download the rigged, animated character as FBX. It's the industry-standard shortcut for indie game devs and animators who need production-quality humanoid animation without manual rigging.
The honest picture: it's humanoids only — no quadrupeds, creatures, or stylized non-standard proportions, and there's no facial rigging or manual weight painting. The rig structure is fixed with no custom bones and no API, and uploads have mesh size limits (~100k triangles). Adobe hasn't meaningfully updated Mixamo in years, so treat it as a stable utility, not a growing platform — and export to glTF requires a Blender conversion step.
