About

The official reference MCP server for time. It exposes the current time and timezone conversion tools — the small utility that stops agents from hallucinating dates. It runs as a Python package via uvx and has no side effects whatsoever.

What it can do

  • Current time in any IANA timezone
  • Timezone conversion
  • Read-only — zero side effects
  • Lightweight uvx execution

Setup

  1. Install Python 3.10+ and uv.
  2. Add to your MCP client config: command uvx, args ["mcp-server-time"] (optionally --local-timezone).
  3. Restart the client.

Prerequisites

An MCP-compatible client; Python 3.10+ with uv.
