About
MacWhisper is an indie macOS app by Jordi Bruin that runs OpenAI's Whisper models entirely on-device, so audio never leaves the machine by default. It transcribes audio and video files, YouTube and podcast URLs, meetings, and system audio capture.
Its signature strength is the transcription workbench: batch file processing, automatic speaker diarization, and export to 50+ formats including SRT, VTT, Word, and PDF. Optional AI post-processing (cleanup, summaries, action items) runs through the user's own API keys.
