Hyperframes
Write HTML. Render video. Built for agents.
About
Hyperframes is an open-source video rendering framework from HeyGen. It turns HTML, CSS, media, and seekable animations into deterministic MP4 files by rendering compositions frame-by-frame in headless Chromium and encoding with FFmpeg. A set of 21 agent skills teaches coding agents the production loop — plan, write HTML, wire animations, lint, preview, render — through a /hyperframes router that picks the right creation workflow for each request. The same toolchain is what lets an agent compose launch videos from plain HTML and JavaScript, as demonstrated with the companion onetake skill.
What it can do
- Deterministic frame-by-frame MP4 rendering of HTML/CSS compositions via headless Chromium + FFmpeg
- 21 agent skills with a /hyperframes intent router covering launch videos, explainers, PR walkthroughs, motion graphics, music videos, slideshows, and deck authoring
- Seek-safe animation adapters: GSAP, CSS keyframes, WAAPI, Lottie, Three.js, Anime.js
- CLI dev loop: init, lint, check, snapshot, preview, render, publish, doctor, plus HeyGen-hosted cloud render and AWS Lambda rendering
- frame.md design-system translation layer so an agent can compose video from a brand's design tokens
- Registry of reusable blocks/components via `hyperframes catalog` / `hyperframes add`
- Plugins for Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Gemini CLI; MCP topic support
Setup
- Install Node.js 22+ and FFmpeg.

```
npx skills add heygen-com/hyperframes
```
- Or scaffold a project manually:
```
Trust score — 9/10
65,071 GitHub stars with 5,858 forks and a 515-release history show broad, fast adoption for a March 2026 release, backed by a real company (HeyGen) with published docs, a showcase, and a playground. Apache-2.0 license, 5,604 commits, and active plugin/skills maintenance across five agent hosts. One point off for youth — under a year old, so long-term maintenance track record is unproven.
