Google Vids
Google's AI video app for Workspace — Gemini storyboards, Veo clips, avatars, and voiceovers.
About
Google Vids is the AI video creation app inside Google Workspace, aimed squarely at business video: training, marketing, internal comms. Its "Help me create" feature uses Gemini to draft a full storyboard from a text prompt — you can @-mention Drive files to pull in real documents — with suggested scenes, stock media, scripts, and voiceovers. Veo 3 integration generates 8-second clips with sound, including photo-to-video from still images. AI avatars deliver scripted narration (30-second cap), AI voiceovers offer preset voices or a teleprompter with read-along, and transcript trim removes silences and filler words automatically.
The honest picture: Vids passed 1M monthly active users, and in November 2025 Google opened the AI features to anyone with a Gmail account (previously Workspace-only). But it's a business tool, not a cinema tool — videos cap at 10 minutes, AI features are English-only for now, and the free AI access window comes with usage limits landing in 2026. If your video needs are decks-that-move rather than films, the Workspace integration (Slides imports, Drive references) makes it the path of least resistance.
