Gitar
AI code review agent that fixes PRs and gets builds green.
Acquired — still operating
acquired by Sonar May 2026
About
Gitar is an AI-native code review product built by the team behind Uber's developer platform and acquired by Sonar in May 2026. It reviews pull requests with full codebase awareness, catching functional bugs and logic errors that go beyond the diff, then generates fixes, validates them against CI, and commits them directly to the branch.
Beyond review, it triages CI failures automatically, de-duplicates them, detects flaky tests, and can manage PRs from creation to merge with custom rules defined in natural language. It emerged from stealth in April 2026 with $9 million in funding led by Venrock and serves enterprise customers including SoFi and Cadence. For strict security requirements it can run entirely inside customer infrastructure.
What it can do
- Context-aware AI pull request reviews
- Validated fixes committed to the branch
- Automated CI failure triage and flaky test detection
- Natural-language custom review policies
