Flagsmith
Open-source feature flags and remote config with A/B testing.
About
Flagsmith is an open-source feature flag and remote configuration service built with Django and React, available under a BSD-style license. Teams wrap code in flags to toggle features without redeploying, run multivariate A/B tests with percentage splits, and push remote config values at runtime. Official SDKs cover more than 15 languages and frameworks, and server-side SDKs support local evaluation mode for zero-latency checks.
A community skill registry reports around 6,300 GitHub stars. The hosted cloud offers a free tier of 50,000 requests per month, and the whole stack self-hosts with Docker Compose for teams that want full control. Flagsmith supports the OpenFeature standard, so flag evaluation code stays portable across providers. Native global CDN delivery is less built-out than in pure SaaS competitors, so self-hosters own their reliability story.
What it can do
- Boolean, multivariate, and scheduled feature flags
- Remote config values changeable at runtime
- Segments, identities, and percentage-based rollouts
- 15+ SDKs with local evaluation and edge caching
Setup
Self-host with git clone of the Flagsmith repo and docker compose up (dashboard at localhost:8000), or sign up for the hosted cloud and drop in an SDK.
