About

Fanlist gives every podcaster a free fan page that turns listeners into supporters. Fans can leave audio or text messages (audio messages are auto-transcribed, like visual voicemail), tip messages they love, buy perks, join a chat room, and subscribe to paid memberships for premium episodes. It started life in 2021 as PodInbox, a simple voice-message inbox, and rebranded to Fanlist in 2023 as the feature set grew; the old podinbox.com URLs still redirect to fanlist.com.

Notably, the company made all Pro features free when it rebranded, so the free tier is the whole product rather than a teaser. Sponsors can also be featured on fan pages via a sponsors widget. The trade-off for free is dependence on a small indie vendor: support is community-scale, and monetization runs through Fanlist's own checkout rather than your existing stack, so treat it as a community front door, not a billing platform.

  2. Share the link in show notes and episode outros.
  3. Collect audio and text messages, review auto-transcriptions.

Trust score — 6/10

/10 trustMetrics-checked

Scored 6/10 (TIER metrics, metrics-v1). Evidence: live product, official rebrand announcement (PodInbox -> Fanlist, 2023) with podinbox.com redirecting to fanlist.com, all Pro features made free per the vendor blog, third-party coverage (Silicon Florist, Podcast Pontifications). Strengths: genuinely free full product, real rebrand history documented. Docked for: (1) small indie vendor with limited independent review coverage; (2) monetization runs through their checkout, not yours. License: proprietary (free SaaS).
