Eleven Music
ElevenLabs' text-to-music model built on licensed data — commercially cleared from day one.
About
Eleven Music is ElevenLabs' text-to-music platform, launched in beta in August 2025 and rebuilt on the Music v2 model in May 2026. It generates studio-quality 44.1kHz tracks — vocal or instrumental, in multiple languages — from natural-language prompts, with section-by-section control (intro, verse, chorus, breakdown, outro), mid-track genre switching, and section-level inpainting. What sets it apart is the legal architecture: the model is trained exclusively on licensed data through deals with Merlin Network, Kobalt Music Group, and later UMG, and it ships with an API for developers plus ElevenCreative for licensed brand and ad music.
The honest picture: it draws from the same ElevenLabs credit pool as voice products rather than a separate music subscription, so heavy music use competes with your TTS budget. Prompts referencing real artists or copyrighted lyrics are prohibited, which is legally necessary but narrows creative range. And the iOS ElevenMusic app's community remix model is consumer-flavored — studios will want the API or ElevenCreative tiers.
