Diagram Design

An agent skill that draws diagrams as one self-contained HTML+SVG file, in your brand — 45 diagram types, no Mermaid slop.

About

An agent skill by Cathryn Lavery that teaches coding agents to produce editorial-style diagrams instead of default Mermaid output. You describe what you want in plain words — an architecture diagram, a quadrant chart, a sequence diagram — and the agent picks the type, states its plan, and writes a single self-contained .html file you can double-click to open.

A brand-onboarding step pulls your site's palette and fonts so every diagram after the first matches. It installs on any host that reads Agent Skills (Claude Code, Codex, Copilot, Cursor, Gemini CLI, Cline, Windsurf, Amp) and is distributed through skills.sh and the Claude Code plugin marketplace.

What it can do

  • 45 diagram types rendered as self-contained HTML + SVG
  • Plain-language prompting — the agent picks the type and plan
  • Brand onboarding that matches your site's palette and fonts
  • Import from draw.io, Mermaid, or Excalidraw
  • Export to PNG and SVG

Setup

  1. Run npx skills add cathrynlavery/diagram-design
  2. Or in Claude Code: /plugin marketplace add cathrynlavery/diagram-design, then /plugin install diagram-design@diagram-design
  3. Ask your agent for a diagram in plain words
  4. Optional: run the brand onboarding so diagrams match your site's palette and fonts

Prerequisites

An Agent Skills host (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, GitHub Copilot, Gemini CLI, Cline, Windsurf, Amp, or similar).

Trust score — 5/10

/10 trustMetrics-checked

Scored 8/10 (METRICS tier, metrics-v1). Evidence: ~56.5k stars, on GitHub weekly trending, pushed Oct 16 2026, MIT license, CI running, ships a PRIVACY.md listing network calls, and installable through the neutral skills.sh registry. Docked for: (1) single-vendor maintenance (Cathryn Lavery's company publishes the plugin listings), so longevity tracks one person; (2) official-build provenance matters here — unofficial copies exist under other names. License: MIT.
