Deno Deploy
Edge JavaScript hosting from the Deno team; now folding into Cloudflare Workers.
About
Deno Deploy was the globally distributed JavaScript/TypeScript hosting platform from Deno, the company founded by Node.js creator Ryan Dahl to fix Node's security and dependency problems. Deno raised about $26M across two rounds and competed directly with Cloudflare Workers in the edge serverless space.
In October 2026 Cloudflare announced it would acquire Deno: the entire Deno team joins Cloudflare, Deno will discontinue its own runtime and cloud hosting service (including Deno Deploy), and engineers will focus on the Workers platform. Cloudflare plans to integrate Deno's Seld open-source project, which brings Workers-style programming to self-hosted servers, with its Workerd runtime.
This is a historical entry: do not start new projects on Deno Deploy. Existing users should plan migration to Cloudflare Workers or self-hosted Seld/Workerd paths as details emerge.
What it can do
- Global edge deployment of TypeScript and JavaScript
- Zero-config from git with Deno runtime
- Team joining Cloudflare Workers development
- Seld open-source project for self-hosted Workers-style runtime
Setup
Historical: new signups are not recommended; existing users should plan migration to Cloudflare Workers.
Prerequisites
None for new projects; migration planning for existing Deno Deploy users.
