DataHub
Open-source metadata platform for data discovery and AI-ready data governance.
About
DataHub is the leading open-source metadata platform, originally created at LinkedIn and now developed by Acryl Data, which rebranded itself as DataHub in 2025. It provides a real-time, event-driven metadata repository covering data discovery, lineage, ownership, quality signals, and access control across warehouses, lakes, BI tools, and pipelines.
In May 2025 the company raised a $35M Series B led by Bessemer Venture Partners, bringing total funding to $65M, explicitly to build a context management platform for data, AI models, and AI agents. The open-source project is used by more than 3,000 organizations including Apple, Netflix, and Slack, and its managed DataHub Cloud offering has seen rapid growth as enterprises look to make their data AI-ready.
