CoreWeave
AI-native GPU cloud; went public on Nasdaq in March 2025.
About
CoreWeave is an AI-native cloud infrastructure provider built around large-scale NVIDIA GPU clusters. Founded in 2017 in New Jersey, it pivoted from crypto mining to AI workloads in 2018 and became one of the defining infrastructure bets of the generative-AI boom, serving customers including Microsoft and OpenAI.
It went public on March 28, 2025 at $40 per share (ticker CRWV) in the largest US venture-backed tech IPO since 2021, with NVIDIA anchoring the offering. In early 2025 it acquired Weights & Biases to add ML experiment tracking to its platform, and it later signed a five-year, $11.9 billion strategic agreement with OpenAI. Honest caveats: the company carries a heavy debt load (about $7.5 billion flagged around the IPO) and high customer concentration, with roughly three-quarters of 2024 revenue coming from its top two customers.
What it can do
- On-demand and reserved NVIDIA GPU compute at large scale
