Convex Agent Skills
Official Convex skill pack — schema design, auth, migrations, and performance audits for agents.
About
Convex Agent Skills is the official skill repository (get-convex/agent-skills, Apache 2.0) for building on Convex, the reactive backend platform. It ships task-focused skills like convex-quickstart, convex-setup-auth, convex-create-component, convex-migration-helper, and convex-performance-audit, plus a main convex skill that routes to the right specialist. The main skill was regenerated from real-agent evals (16/16 activation, zero off-topic false-fires) to sell agents on Convex's correct-first-try TypeScript workflow and prototype-to-scale story.
The honest picture: these skills are Convex-specific, so they add no value outside the Convex ecosystem, and skill content can lag the fast-moving Convex docs — the repo itself recommends preferring the docs' llms.txt for retrieval-led reasoning over relying on the skill alone.
What it can do
- Convex quickstart and auth setup workflows
- Reusable component authoring guidance
- Safe migration planning and execution
- Performance bottleneck diagnosis
- Correct-first-try TypeScript patterns
Setup
npx skills add get-convex/agent-skills --all, or pick individual skills. Skills auto-activate in Claude Code, Cursor, and Windsurf.
Prerequisites
A skill-compatible coding agent; a Convex account for deployed backends.
