About

Compose Better is a Chrome extension that rewrites and improves text in any input field — emails, posts, forms, chats.

Trigger it by typing // or right-clicking selected text, then apply one-click actions like professional tone, shorten, or translate. A chat interface allows multi-turn refinement with custom instructions.

It works on most sites with text fields, though Google Docs' custom editor is not supported.

What it can do

  • One-click grammar and clarity fixes
  • Tone presets (professional, friendly, shorter, longer)
  • Conversational multi-turn refinement
  • Translation across major languages
  • One-click apply preserving formatting
  • Works on Gmail, LinkedIn, Slack web, and more

Setup

  1. Install Compose Better from the Chrome Web Store.
  2. Pin the extension icon.
  3. Type // in any text field or select text and right-click 'Improve with ComposeBetter'.
  4. Pick a quick action or chat with the AI.
