About

A curated directory of high-quality plugins for Claude Code, hosted at github.com/anthropics/claude-plugins-official. It holds two collections: /plugins, built and maintained by Anthropic's own team (including 12-language LSP support, pull-request review tooling, git workflow automation, output formatting, and code quality checks), and /external_plugins, third-party submissions from partners such as GitHub, GitLab, Linear, Asana, Firebase, Playwright, Terraform, and Discord. External plugins must pass quality and security screening before inclusion and are submitted through a dedicated form. The repository carries an explicit trust warning: Anthropic does not control what MCP servers, files, or software are bundled in plugins and cannot verify they work as intended.

What it can do

  • Install any listed plugin with `/plugin install {name}@claude-plugins-official`
  • Browse plugins in `/plugin > Discover`
  • Anthropic-built internal plugins: LSP support for 12 languages, PR review, git workflows, output formatting, code quality checks
  • Vetted third-party plugins: GitHub, GitLab, Linear, Asana, Firebase, Playwright, Terraform, Discord, and more
  • Reference plugin template (`/plugins/example-plugin`) with `.claude-plugin/plugin.json`, `.mcp.json`, `commands/`, `agents/`, `skills/`, `hooks/` conventions
  • Third-party submission via the official plugin directory submission form

Setup

  1. Open Claude Code in any session.
  2. Install a plugin with the slash command: /plugin install {plugin-name}@claude-plugins-official.
  3. Alternatively, browse and install from the plugin marketplace via /plugin > Discover.
  4. To build your own, study /plugins/example-plugin in the repo for the reference plugin structure.

Prerequisites

Claude Code installed; installs from inside any Claude Code session.
