Checkly
Monitoring-as-code — run your real Playwright suites as global synthetic checks, versioned in Git.
About
Checkly brings software-engineering discipline to synthetic monitoring: API checks and real Playwright browser checks live in your repo, deploy through your pipeline via CLI or Terraform, and run from ~19 global locations. Because checks are actual Playwright code, teams can share page objects and fixtures with their CI test suites instead of maintaining a parallel monitoring script dialect. The Hobby tier is free (1,000 browser runs and 10,000 API runs per month); Starter is $24/month and Team $64/month, with extra browser runs metered on top.
The honest picture: usage-based pricing gets expensive at scale — a 20-check suite at 1-minute intervals from 3 regions can run into five figures a year. There is no recorder, so every check is TypeScript written by a developer; QA and product teams can't self-serve. Status pages are a separate paid module, and incident management (escalation, rotations) isn't native — you'll pair it with an on-call tool.
