All Hands AI
Open-source platform for autonomous AI software-development agents.
About
All Hands AI is the company behind OpenHands, the open-source platform for autonomous software-development agents that grew out of the OpenDevin project. Founded by researchers Robert Brennan, Xingyao Wang and Graham Neubig, it raised a $5 million seed round led by Menlo Ventures in September 2024.
The platform runs model-agnostic coding agents inside sandboxed Docker runtimes, where they plan, edit code, execute commands and browse the web to complete engineering tasks end to end. The core is MIT-licensed on GitHub, where it has gathered roughly 75,000 stars, and the company ships a hosted cloud alongside self-hostable deployments. An $18.8 million Series A has been reported by community sources, though that figure is not confirmed by the company itself.
What it can do
- Autonomous coding agents for planning, editing and testing
- Sandboxed Docker execution with web browsing
- Model-agnostic: works with Claude, GPT, Gemini and local models
- Hosted cloud plus self-hostable enterprise tier
Setup
Run the open-source runtime with Docker locally, or sign up for OpenHands Cloud at app.all-hands.dev.
Prerequisites
Docker for the self-hosted runtime; an LLM API key for the model of your choice.
